With Investment Bankers officially recognised as the modern incarnation of the Bible's Legion, Society is now free to direct all of it's anger at exactly how they earned their crust.
As far as PR goes, they do themselves no favours especially, according to recent reports, the threats said Bankers are making to their employers about jumping ship should bonuses not be paid.
RBS, who have reported £3.6bn losses, are crying over the fact their 'best' chronic gamblers are leaving for greener pastures due to the bonus restrictions placed on them by the UK Government. You would expect MPs to be relieved there was anyone in the UK regarded as even more despicable than them and work hard to create a separation. Sadly, their spin and posturing give them away.
All paths to a fairer system are being touted as fraught with danger. The most obvious solution would be to force all UK banks to adopt the same legislation and end the greed culture that caused the economic crash in the first place. Instead, the Government without the will, want or patience to enforce any real discipline, chooses the parenting style of trying to be the Banker's friend.
The UK currently has the highest rate of unemployment since the 90s. I'm sure many of them would give their right arm for an opportunity to train up into the vacant roles left by jumping Bankers. Oh wait! No! Please don't start crying...
